Part Time

Part Time measures 6 feet high by 1 foot wide and weighs about 100 pounds. It consists of two brass plated rotors from a 1971 Mustang Mach I and a nickel-plated cam shaft from a 1970 Ford Torino GT. The glass is custom crafted to fit the odd shaped camshaft and acts in harmony to portray an "Hour Glass". The Hour Glass was a tool used for keeping time. This time, it is utilized to portray a time in history. With the invention of the disc brakes in the early 50's came a new and revolutionary measure of advancement. This pearl of engineering is represented by 5 mm Japanese cultured pearls set throughout the piece. Accenting the details are neon lights mounted on the top and bottom bestowing upon it a genuine look of beauty and grace. In addition, the Oak pedestal supporting the piece offers strength as well as an aspect of vulnerability, to the elements of time.

The Rotor and Camshaft are intrisic parts to any automobile. With the invention of the disc brake came new advancements in engineering and safety. Their combined contribution to the transportation industry marked an important milestone in the history of the automobile. Displayed here, they illustrate a basic foundation for time and strength.

The model Part Time is a tribute to ingenuity and teamwork. The intermixture of materials symbolizes unity as we move forward into the future. Let's remove the "brakes" and continue to work together toward future endeavors.

Enjoy Part Time as a true "Part of History" and for the contribution these parts have made toward making our world a safer place to live.
