The Classic Sculpture
Design Process

A Part of History...
...in the Making

Each sculpture is first designed on the computer to scale. The following designs are from Job # One. As a reminder, all designs are copyrighted and are not available for any use. Please feel free to contact me by
e-mail if you have any questions or comments.

Although the illustrations are fairly small, you can view them and get an understanding of the general design concept. I also thought it would be neat to add the old blue- print motif to the drawings for this web site just for kicks and grins.

The sculpture design seen here, Job # One, was rendered to scale so brackets could be added later. Each piece was drawn individually on the computer. Job # One measures 7 feet high by 6 feet wide. It weighs over 400 pounds. It was necessary to be exact during the design process to assure the sculpture would mount securely to the wall.

All the sculptures I design and build are either "free standing" or "wall mounted" units.

The brackets shown here are samples of the basic construction technique added to Job # One. They are made from 1/4" steel. The mounts are adapted to attach to commercial as well as residential sites. They also allow for adjustments necessary to center the piece to the wall.

You are viewing the fender and hood of Job # One. Here you can observe the illustration I used to measure the core pieces to the brackets. The angles are designed in such a way as to accommodate the wall studs for 16 inch or 24 inch placements.

All of the sculptures designed and constructed by me usually originate from computer drawings. Models are then built to scale for evaluation. Finally the end piece is built utilizing various materials and plating.
